This story is originally found in The Holy Injil, in the book of Luke, Surah 23 Ayat 44 through 49. Included below is the original text in Greek, followed by a modern English translation.
44 At about noon deep darkness descended over the whole land, and it lasted until three o’clock. 45 The sun ceased to shine, and the curtain in the temple ripped down the middle. 46 Then Isa shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit to your care!” With that he breathed his last.
47 When the military officer saw what had happened, he glorified Allah, saying, “This man was truly innocent!” 48 And when the crowds which had gathered to watch saw what happened, they returned home grief-stricken. 49 Those who knew Isa, including the women who followed him from Galilee, had been standing at a distance to watch.
